As Seniors, each of us has come from different walks of life. Some of practically grew up here in Stockton Christian School, but for others, this is their first and final year. As Seniors, we are now left with the choice of leaving home and going off to college; for others, we will be staying here and maybe going to Delta college or Christian Life College. At some point however, we will have to leave our parents’ nest and learn how to make our own choices in life and cope with it.

The most important choice we now face is to follow Christ or to follow this world and the people in it. Matthew 16 :24-25 says “Then said Jesus unto His disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.” Each of us needs to make a commitment to separate ourselves from this world and follow our heavenly Father. We cannot follow our family and friends because their choices in life and decisions will not always lead us down the path towards heaven.

I challenge each and every Senior in the class of 2008, and everyone that comes at this crossroad in life, to choose wisely and cautiously. I challenge you to follow the one who will always be there for you when your world seems to crumble, and when it seems that there is no one to lean on and trust. Lean on God!
