AA General Education Requirements:
For the AA degree a minimum of 15 semester credits of general education courses is required, including all of the core GE requirements, plus at least one course in either the Humanities, or Life Long Understanding and Development.
General education courses transferred from other institutions may be substituted for those specific courses listed below at the discretion of the academic committee. In making such substitutions the committee will consider the following:
- courses in chemistry, biology, physics, astronomy, may be substituted for Natural Science courses below;
- courses in the areas of history, sociology, anthropology, psychology, or political science may be substituted for Social Sciences courses below;
- courses in music appreciation, art, foreign languages, or philosophy may be substituted for Humanities courses below;
- courses in mathematics or statistics may be substituted for Quantitative Reasoning courses below;
- courses in computer literacy, parenting, personality development, home finances, cross cultural understanding, and other areas may be substituted for Life Long Understanding and Development courses below.
BA General Education Requirements:
For the BA degree a minimum of 30 semester credits of general education courses is required, including all of the following Communications courses, plus at least one course in the Natural Sciences, one course from the Social Sciences , one course in the Humanities , one course in Quantitative Reasoning, and one course in Life Long Understanding and Development.
General education courses transferred from other institutions may be substituted for those specific courses listed below at the discretion of the academic committee. In making such substitutions the committee will consider the following:
